Patient Care Technician - Emergency Medicine - 60% Days (Sat/Sun) - Downtown Campus
Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others verbally, electronically, and in writing with patients, family members and health care staff.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Ability to provide care with regard to patient condition and age.
- Knowledge of principles of sanitation and health hazards.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, instruments and supplies.
- Ability to collect patient data and maintain accurate records.
- Knowledge of keyboarding and computer data entry skills.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
- Ability to read, write and follow instructions
Desired Qualifications:
- At least six months of recent Emergency Room experience
- Direct patient-care experience
- Work experience in a health care environment
- Strong written communication skills
- Customer service experience
- Certified Nursing Assistant or EMT certification/experience
