Pediatric ARNP Hospitalist
Required Qualifications:
- Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP): A Master’s degree is required. A Master’s degree in Nursing is preferred. If a Master’s degree is in a related field, a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is required.
- Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required.
- Current certification of Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and licensure as ARNP in state of Iowa is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years in a pediatric tertiary care hospital including nursing care of infants and children with complex acute and chronic life- threatening conditions, complex pain needs, and end of life care.
- Demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment is required.
- Demonstrate leadership skills with interdisciplinary team collaboration.
- Demonstrate experience exercising autonomy in medical decision-making and services provided.
Highly Desirable Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in Pain & Palliative care is highly desired.
- Selected candidates will be expected to successfully acquire at least one of the advanced certifications within 2 years from the date of hire.
- Certification as a Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Pediatric Nurse (CHPPN) through the Hospice & Palliative Credentialing Center (HPCC)
- Certification as a PMGT-BC (Pain Management Nursing Certification) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
- Selected candidates will be encouraged to complete advanced pain management and palliative care training within 2 years from the date of hire.
- Completion of the UCSF CME Pediatric Pain Master Class
- Completion of Pediatric Palliative Care educational training such as Education in Palliative and End-of-Life Care (EPEC) – Pediatrics, or End of Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) – Pediatric or APRN Pediatric
