Phlebotomy Technician I - Inpatient Phlebotomy Team- 50% - Night Shifts 2300-0730
The Inpatient Phlebotomy Team intends to hire for one position at either the Phlebotomy Technician I (26001519), or Phlebotomy Technician II (26001520), based on the qualifications of the successful candidate. Please apply to the specific opening for which you wish to be considered, or both.
The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking to fill Phlebotomy Technician I positions to perform phlebotomy/specimen collection and a variety of laboratory tasks related to phlebotomy, labeling specimens, telephone inquiries, and distribution of phlebotomy supplies.
Duties to include:
- Performs phlebotomy draws
- Performs computer data entry and other clerical tasks as required
- Orders, receives, and distributes supplies
- Responds to basic phlebotomy inquiries and otherwise represents assigned and related work areas
Percent of Time: 50%
Schedule: Night shift (2300-0730), every other weekend, every other holiday
Location: UI Health Care Main Campus

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
- High school graduation or equivalent
Special Qualifications:
Previous public contact/customer service experience
Desirable Qualifications:
- Completion of a phlebotomy training program or previous phlebotomy experience
- Minimum six (6) months previous experience working in a healthcare setting
- Basic computer skills
- Previous experience with Personal Protective Equipment
- Previous patient contact experience
