The Department of Pathology is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician I to perform phlebotomy/specimen collection, and a variety of laboratory tasks related to phlebotomy:  labeling specimens, telephone inquiries, and distribution of phlebotomy supplies. This position is 50% time, Saturday and Sunday, 2nd shift from 1300-2330, with rotating holidays. 

Duties to include: 

·         Perform phlebotomy draws.

·         Perform computer data entry and other clerical tasks as required.

·         Order, receive, and distribute supplies.

·         Respond to basic phlebotomy inquiries and otherwise represent assigned and related work areas.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

·         High school graduation or equivalent.

Special Qualifications (if appropriate):

·         Previous public contact/customer service experience.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Completion of a phlebotomy training program or previous phlebotomy experience is desirable.
  • Minimum 6 months previous experience working in a healthcare setting is desirable.
  • Basic computer skills are desirable.
  • Previous experience with Personal Protective Equipment is desirable.
  • Previous patient contact experience is desirable.
