Education Requirement

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of experience with research grant proposal development, including experience developing and expediting proposal budgets for multiple projects at any given time. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as demonstrated at a working proficiency level. 
  • Accuracy and attention to detail, as demonstrated at an extensive proficiency level. 
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high quality customer service in a deadline driven environment. 
  • Extensive proficiency in Microsoft Office computer programs, particularly Excel. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence through diversity, equity, and inclusion. 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with federal sponsors. 
  • Experience working with electronic submission systems such as Cayuse, eRA Commons, Research.gov, and Fastlane. 
  • Experience working with post-award administration, such as monitoring grant accounts, providing budget projections, closing out awards, and other activities associated with managing grants and contracts. 
  • Experience proofreading grant materials and/or providing feedback on non-scientific content. 
  • Working knowledge of University of Iowa policies, procedures, and regulations, and experience working with the University of Iowa Research Information System (UIRIS) and/or DSP Research Tracker.
