Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Typically (1+ years) in administrative, supervisory, and/or program coordination experience.
  • Typically (1+ years) experience in public speaking, technical writing and/or training.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to compose grammatically correct documents in a concise, logical and organized manner.
  • Ability to work independently and to set and execute work priorities.
  • Proficient in computer software applications.
  • Experience and knowledge in technology equipment (e.g., teleconferencing via Skype, Zoom, and other formats; webinar access/management/downloads/website).
  • Working knowledge of issues and challenges experienced by older people in the US and their family caregivers.
  • Current valid driver’s license and ability to meet the UI Fleet Safety Driving Policy.

Desired Qualifications

  • Budget management, oversight and reporting experience.
  • Grant writing experience.
  • Knowledge and skills in geriatric care, treatment, and/or case management.
  • Knowledge of the effect of the Baby Boom generation aging on US social and health care systems.
  • Knowledge of the University of Iowa policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Experience with long-term care of older persons.
  • Work experience with community-based senior care and service settings.
