Project Engineer
Position Qualifications:
Education Required
Master’s degree in an engineering discipline required. PhD in an engineering discipline highly desired.
Experience Requirements
At least 3 years of research experience.
Experience designing, specifying, and building custom devices for simulation purposes and measurement at a sufficient level to be able to take project lead. Related experience programming software for instrumentation control and numeric computing (i.e., MATLAB, Labview, Tekscan, etc.).
Ability to apply complex engineering principles from extensive engineering experience and to synthesize those principles with non-mechanical outcome modalities including medical imaging or similar.
Willingness to attend formal training sessions to increase or acquire new building or instrumentation skills to support new projects.
Ability to communicate complex engineering concepts and ideas in written, verbal, and presentation settings with departmental and organizational management.
Highly Desirable Qualifications
Experience designing, prototyping, and testing surgical skills training simulators.
Basic knowledge of computational modeling techniques.
