Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) preferably in Business, Marketing, Journalism, Mass Communications, Advertising, Public Relations, English, History or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 3 years (preferably 5) experience working in a professional role in public relations (PR) or a closely-related field (for example: marketing communications, journalism, brand management, advertising, or sales management).
- Experience leading team projects.
- Experience in public relations and/or internal communications.
- Experience anticipating and managing difficult public relations’ issues.
- Demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment and/or demonstrated commitment to promoting a diverse environment.
- Please submit three samples of content (or links to content) that demonstrate your ability to communicate high-profile or high-risk issues. This may include examples of executive communication, media releases or statements, video messages, or communication plans.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience serving as a media spokesperson in high-pressure, high-risk situations.
- Supervisory skills, including performance planning and management, and staff development.
- Track record of building professional relationships with organizational leaders, journalists, and key influencers.
- Experience in developing strategic, research-based communication plans.
- Experience in higher education, health care, government, or non-profit organizations.
