Public Safety Dispatcher Supervisor
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required
- 1-2 years Supervisory experience and lead dispatch experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with presentations and public speaking
- Proficiency in computer software applications
- Commitment to customer and employee safety
- Ability to facilitate positive outcomes by collaborating and working in a team environment, establishing and meeting/exceeding department objectives and deadlines is required
- Ability to be self-directed and demonstrate excellent judgement in prioritizing multiple projects and assignments
- Knowledge of the geography of the university hospital campus’s.
- Knowledge of FCC regulations and public safety dispatching procedures.
- Skill in using equipment such as multi-frequency radio, teletype, telephone, TDD and computers.
- Skill in communicating with members of the public and departmental staff both orally and in writing.
- Ability to enter and retrieve data from a computer terminal, PC or other keyboard device.
- Ability to communicate effectively and coherently over law enforcement radio channels while initiating and responding to radio communications.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks at one time and to remain calm in stressful situations.
Desired Qualifications:
- Leadership experience in a healthcare setting
- Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, medical personnel, administrators, supervisors, and staff
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications including but not limited to OneNote, Excel, and Word
- Experience in C-Cure, Omnigo, and Victor
- NIMS Training (FEMA 100, FEMA 200, FEMA 300, FEMA 700)
- CPR Certified
- MOAB De-Escalation course
- Knowledge of UI Health Care policies, procedures, and regulations
- Knowledge of Safety and Security policies, procedures, and regulations
- Emergency Services Background
