Radiation Safety Coordinator
Education or Equivalency Required
Bachelors in a physical science or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s licensewith the ability to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License with a hazardous materials endorsement within 6 months of employment.
- Ability to comply with the University’s Fleet Safety/CDL Drug and Alcohol Testing programs.
- High level proficiency processing information accurately and with attention to detail.
- Proficiency with tools (such as laptops or tablets), techniques and processes for gathering and reporting data in a department or division.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office programs and mobile devices for data recording and retrieval.
- Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience handling hazardous (radioactive) materials.
- Knowledge of radiation safety instrumentation.
- Familiarity with radiation regulations.
- Familiarity with radiation safety laboratory practices in a research environment.
- Knowledge of University Iowa policies, procedures and regulations.
