Radiation Sciences Educator - Diagnostic Medical Sonography
Education Required
- Baccalaureate degree or higher level of education.
- Successful completion of a two-year or other program approved by CAAHEP in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography, or Vascular Technology/Sonography.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years full-time post-certification professional experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Certification Requirements
- Requires current certification by the ARDMS.
Desirable Qualifications
- Certification in two or more ARDMS specialty areas is desired, with preference determined by instructional needs of the program.
- Clinical instructing experience.
- Laboratory instructing experience.
- Classroom instructing experience.
- Distance and Online Education experience.
- Clinical advising experience.
- Academic advising experience.
- Soft skills including active listening, conflict resolution, problem-solving, adaptability, and teamwork.
- Educational coursework to include educational theory, course development, instructional design, and assessment methods.
- Master’s degree or coursework towards a degree.
