Research Assistant
Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in the conduct of developmental psychology observational research with families and young children that includes the implementation and coding of standard temperament batteries for children (Laboratory Temperament Assessment Battery, LAB-TAB), the administration of standard Strange Situation Paradigm (SSP), and other measures of parent-child interaction and child social-emotional development.
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills (ability to communicate clearly to be understood by participants; ability to establish interpersonal rapport with participants and community businesses to facilitate recruiting).
- Demonstrated ability to do independent, self-directed work.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and high level of organization.
- Valid Driver’s license and the ability to meet the University Driving Policy driving standard (University of Iowa Operations Manual Part V, Chapter 19).
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that will include early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications:
- Basic proficiency with data entry skills, managing databases and with computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and SPSS.
