Research Assistant
Education Required
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, neuroscience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 6 months of research experience including knowledge of basic neuroscience, microscopy imaging and neurophysiology.
Experience with basic lab techniques, including preparing solutions and microscopy.
Ability to handle rodents.
Proficiency with computer programs – specifically MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including maintaining excellent lab notes and records.
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as a member of a team and display initiative in anticipating problems and resolving problems.
Demonstrated bility to multitask effectively, prioritize multiple projects.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience with computational skills such as programming/writing scripts in IgorPro, MatLab, ImageJ are desirable.
- Experience with microscopy imaging, brain slices preparation.
