Research Assistant - Anatomy and Cell Biology (Tootle Lab)
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in biomedical-related science, cell biology, physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a relevant field of study
- Must be able to translate, adapt and apply that knowledge to perform beginning level research in biomedical science discipline
- Fine motor skills are required for animal tissue collection and stock maintenance
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills are required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
Desired Qualifications:
- 0.5 to 2 years previous biomedical research experience with:
- Drosophila animal handling and genetics
- Immunofluorescent staining and microscopy
- Collecting tissue samples from small animals
- DNA/RNA/protein purification
- Western blotting
- PCR and qRT-PCR
- Cloning
