Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in basic science or engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Practical laboratory knowledge of standard techniques, including calculation of molar solutions, measuring liquids, weighing chemicals
  • Practical experience with sterile tissue culture (mammalian or bacterial)
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Word
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with animal handling (mice preferred); immunization, euthanasia, tissue collection
 

Desirable Qualifications

  • Previous laboratory experience with some or all of the following:

    • Experience with handling human tissues, such as blood and skin

    • Experience with purification of cell populations using density gradients, immunomagnetic selection or FACS

    • Experience with embedding and sectioning of tissues, IHC or fluorescent immunostaining and visualization and/or quantitation of staining via microscopy and NIH imageJ (FIJI).
