Research Assistant - Neuroscience and Pharmacology (Chatterjee lab)
Required Qualifications:
- Requires the academic knowledge of a discipline in the biological sciences plus the ability to apply and adapt this knowledge generally associated with a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience, such that one can perform beginning level of research in a natural or health science field or discipline.
- Experience working with mice
- Familiarity with an animal care policy and practice
- Experience with sectioning and immunohistochemistry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, word software
- Familiarity with molecular biological, biochemical experiments
Desirable Qualifications:
- One to two years’ experience in a laboratory research setting
- Experience with breeding and genotyping genetically modified mice
- Some working knowledge of the molecular mechanisms of memory storage and the molecular basis of neurodegeneration
- Confocal microscopy and PCR experience
- Bioinformatic experience
