Education Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Experience Requirements:

  • Experience managing multiple deadlines and ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel

Desired Qualifications:

  • One to three years of grant-related experience.
  • Experience managing or administering grants, including pre- and post-award activities.
  • Experience developing budgets and submitting grants.
  • Experience with account reconciliation.
  • Familiarity with federal grant policies, procurement, and accounts payable/receivable.
  • Experience with account reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of and experience with NIH grant processes and requirements.
  • Experience working with computer programs and applications specific to grant submissions (e.g Cayuse, RPPR and Proposal Central).
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency with computer applications and software programs, such as large databases and use of pivot tables.
  • Knowledge of University of Iowa business policies, procedures, and regulations.

The EM Research team will be filling this position at one of two levels.  The Grants Specialist classification (PRM2) salary range is $44,429  to commensurate.
