Education
Required: Doctorate degree in cognitive or
developmental psychology, or cognitive science
Required
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years post-doctoral or related experience preferably in cognitive or developmental psychology.
- Good computer skills, programming experience in Matlab and MS Access required, with the ability to program cognitive psychology experiments.
- Expertise in statistical models using mixed effects models.
- Experience completing research projects in spoken and written language processing.
- Ability to design and conduct eye-tracking experiments (including data processing).
- Flexible schedule – weekend and evening hours are regularly needed.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to meet the University of Iowa driving policy.
Desired
Qualifications:
- Experience with working in a team environment.
- Ability to supervise undergraduate and graduate students.
- Demonstrated attention to detail. Well organized, Responsible.
- Ability to perform and score standardized clinical assessments of language and cognition, or to rapidly learn those skills.
- Experience with audio equipment, speech processing or speech synthesis packages, and/or acoustic analysis.
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop.
