Research Support Specialist
Education Required
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience Requirements
At least one to three years administrative and/or accounting experience.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be proficient in computer software applications (Microsoft Office Suite-especially Excel).
Desirable Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in federal (or comparable) grant policies, regulations, and contract administration.
- 3-5 years of experience in grant administrative management, including grant submission processes and requirements, publication management software (e.g. EndNote), and administrative post-award reporting requirements.
- 3-5 years of experience in grant fiscal management, including budget preparation, monitoring expenditures for appropriateness, and fiscal post-award reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of UI systems including CAYUSE, UIRIS, General Ledger, and Grant Decision Support.
- Knowledge of University of Iowa policies, procedures and regulations.
