Required Qualifications


A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.


Reasonable (1-3 years) experience with grant proposal/contract preparation, including a demonstrated ability to interpret proposal/contract guidelines required by sponsoring agencies is required.


Demonstrated careful attention to detail and accuracy, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, establish priorities and manage frequent changes in schedule and tasks.


Must be proficient in computer software applications – word processing, database, and spreadsheet.


Demonstrated proficiency using MS Excel.


Related accounting experience.


Demonstrates a high level of written and oral communication techniques and relationship building skills that develop the ability to clearly communicate and work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner while maintaining strict confidentiality. 


Experience working with electronic processing systems, such as Workflow, purchasing, accounts payable and travel systems.


Recent experience (using electronic submission packages), assisting with federal grant applications, and initiating routing forms.


Desirable Qualifications


Experience working with University of Iowa procurement processes.


Some knowledge of University policies, procedures and regulations.


Ability to initiate and take independent action.


Ability to continuously learn and adapt to a changing environment and utilize knowledge in varying situations.
