Research Technology Compliance Specialist - hybrid or fully remote eligible
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
A Master's degree or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Typically, 3 years of experience in technology, research, and/or compliance.
- Experience job-related experience with and/or commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment.
- Knowledge of applicable state and federal IT privacy laws and regulations.
- Experience in a customer service-focused role and a passion for helping customers navigate complex processes.
- Knowledge of applicable state and federal IT privacy laws and regulations.
- Experience reviewing and analyzing information, drawing conclusions, and making recommendations based on data or findings.
- Familiarity with multiple forms of information technology, such as data management and storage technologies, information security, web platforms, cloud, databases, windows remote desktop, and electronic lab notebooks.
- Excellent people skills and ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with technical and non-technical audiences in a diverse community.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with technical and non-technical staff
- Experience managing projects.
- Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams and influence others without direct authority.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiarity with relevant University policies and procedures.
- Experience with compliance regimes such as; HIPAA, NIST, FISMA, CMMC, etc.
- Experience using computer security tools and techniques.
- Experience working in a research-intensive institution of higher education or other experience in research and policy.
- Experience developing and/or presenting educational or training materials for small and large groups.
- Experience in undergraduate or graduate research and familiarity with the research lifecycle in Higher Education.
- Experience supporting technology in a higher education setting.
