Education Requirement:

Graduate of an AMA approved two or four year professional therapist program and/or completion of the requirements to become registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.

Experience Requirement:

  • Minimum 3 years ICU experience within the past 6 months.
  • Minimum 6 months experience as an ECMO Specialist.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage critically-ill patient population.
  • Proven capacity to function with a high degree of autonomy while collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Certification/Licensure Requirement:

  • Current licensure by the State of Iowa as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • Current BLS certification required by start date.
  • ACLS certification required within 6 mos. of start.
  • PALS certification required within 6 mos. of start.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current ACLS certification desired.
  • Current PALS certification desired.
  • Previous experience with clinical nursing documentation in EPIC.
