Revenue Cycle Manager
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field or an equivalent combination of education and direct coding experience is required
- Certification such as RHIT, RHIA, and/or coding certification (i.e., CCS, CPC, etc.) through nationally recognized credentialing body such as AHIMA or AAPC
- 3-5 years supervisory/management experience in Health Information Management within a hospital/medical setting
- 3-5 years medical coding experience, including both CPT & ICD-10
- 3-5 years of experience working with medical records
- Knowledge and experience with MS DRG/APR DRG/APC Grouping software
- Knowledge and experience utilizing Encoder/Analyzer software
- Experience with third party review and appeal process
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
- Knowledge, understanding and experience with CMS regulations, standards of TJC and other accrediting bodies and medical record documentation requirements.
- Proficient in computer software applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite)
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Prefer 5+ years of supervisory experience
- Prefer 5+ years of experience with medical coding and abstracting
- Prefer 5+ years of experience working with medical records
- Outpatient, CPT, and Infusion coding strongly preferred
- Coding certification (i.e., CCS, CCS-P, etc.) through a nationally recognized credentialing body such as AHIMA or AAPC strongly preferred
- Experience utilizing 3M Encoder/Analyzer software
- Knowledge of Core Measure Abstraction criteria
- Knowledge of University policies, procedures, and regulations
