Senior Behavioral Health Clinician - The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences
Education Required:
- Master’s in Social Work or mental health counseling
Required Licensure:
- Licensed as an LISW, LMSW, or LMHC in the State of Iowa by date of hire.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience providing individual or group care, support, intervention, and referrals (typically 3-5 years); knowledge of systems theory and working mezzo and macro level.
- Extensive knowledge of evidence and theory based mental health case management and counseling in assessment, crisis, individual, and group.
- Extensive proficiency in planning and delivering outreach programs and consultation services, and serve as a liaison with different service providers.
- Working knowledge of program development and providing supervision to trainees, including students.
- Extensive proficiency in the application of communication techniques and relationship building skills that develop the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
- Extensive proficiency in collaborating and interacting with individuals and groups while valuing the unique contribution of individuals from varied cultures, race, creed, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, pregnancy (including childbirth and related conditions), disability, genetic information, status as a U.S. veteran, service in the U.S. military, sexual orientation, gender identity, or associational preferences.
- Working proficiency with office support tools and electronic medical records software (e.g., word processing, email, presentation software and spreadsheets, electronic health records); preferably Microsoft Office.
Desired Qualifications:
- Working proficiency in empirically validated treatment modalities.
- Working proficiency with serious and complex mental health concerns and with mental health crises.
- Knowledge and experience with infusing technology into the delivery of mental health services.
- Knowledge of local mental health providers and systems.
- Experience with campus mental health and challenges associated with transition and persistence within higher education.
- Experience working in higher education specifically with faculty and staff leaders.
- Working proficiency of managing multiple complex concerns while meeting different constituency expectations and deadlines.
- Ability to navigate a multi-disciplinary team.
