The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is currently searching for a Senior Financial Analyst. 

The Senior Financial Analyst will create and analyze specialized financial reports for the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences (CLAS) Dean’s Office and for departments throughout the college, as well as present financial information to these groups.  As part of CLAS Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst will manage collegiate control account budgets including Research, Start up, Renovation & Instructional Equipment and Student Technology Fees. In addition, this position will manage departmental accounts as assigned. 


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare accounting reports for the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences (CLAS) Dean’s Office and departments. 
  • Complete complex recurring or non-routine reconciliations and reporting. 
  • Provide and communicate financial information to CLAS departments and Dean’s Office Administration.  
  • Perform complex non-routine financial and statistical analysis utilizing expert knowledge of financial systems. 
  • Advise departments within the college and the CLAS Dean’s Office. 
  • Provide training, recommend and assist in developing training solutions.  

Hybrid work arrangement will be considered after the initial training period.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience. 



Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience with financial analysis and accounting.  
  • Financial Reporting & Presentation: Extensive knowledge of processes, methods and tools for creating and maintaining accurate and thorough financial reports, and presenting financial information. Experience should include basic knowledge and use of relational databases, and report writing and presentation tools (e.g. SSRS or equivalent, Microsoft Excel, Access & PowerPoint, etc.). 
  • Effective Communication and Relationship Management: Effective written and verbal communication skills, including relationship building skills, and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner. Experience working in a team environment to develop best practices. 
  • Accuracy and attention to detail: Extensive understanding of the necessity and value of accuracy and attention to detail; ability to process information with high levels of accuracy. 
  • Financial Analysis: Extensive experience evaluating financial statements, evaluating organizational and managerial performance, and anticipating the potential impact of decisions based on financial data analysis. Advises others on a variety of financial tools, techniques and approaches. 
  • Managing Expenses and Finances: Working experience with financial management reports and expense and budget management analysis using varying approaches. 



Desired Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of an academic setting, financial reports, fund accounting and grant accounting. 
  • Working experience conducting training sessions and creating training documentation. 
  • Experience using a variety of business intelligence tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
