The University of Iowa, Capital Assets Management department is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst. This position will perform a broad range of accounting and financial analysis responsibilities to assure effective and compliant organizational/department/unit operations related to capital projects with an emphasis on funding and capitalization.  Maintain accountability for project budgets by reviewing and approving construction documents, creating and reporting finalized project closeout spreadsheets, and creating, analyzing, and distributing monthly reports to the Controller. This position is not eligible for University sponsorship for employment authorization.

Duties to Include:
•    Perform variance analysis related to reconciliation reports for various capital projects, loans, and funds.
•    Opening WhoKeys and Chartfields as needed following funding and capitalization rules.
•    Entering all Change Orders and Amendments in PeopleSoft.
•    Maintain and update procedures for SOP.

Location: Remote within Iowa

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Required Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s degree in business administration or accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•    Typically, 3 years of accounting and financial analysis experience.
•    Excellent customer service skills interacting in person, on the phone, via email and Zoom (or similar application).
•    Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
•    Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Experience with report presentation using MS Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Access, or other similar software.
•    Must be proficient with software applications with the ability to create, manipulate and extensively use Microsoft Excel.
•    Demonstrated commitment to creating a welcoming and respectful workplace.

Desirable Qualifications:
•    Experience with PeopleSoft Applications including General Ledger and Asset Management.
•    Experience with Microsoft Access with the ability to create tables and queries.
•    Experience with University of Iowa accounting financial systems.
