Senior Informatics Specialist
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience Requirements:
5-7 years experience in a clinical position in a health care environment of similar size and complexity, including experience as a designer, trainer, or super-user in a clinical information system implementation cycle.
Proven experience using an electronic health information system in a clinical role including workflow analysis, implementation and/or support in an ambulatory or hospital setting.
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and/or supervising staff and managing projects.
Excellent communication skills at the verbal, written and presentation level.
Demonstrates time management, organization of workload, delegation, analytical decision making skills, attention to detail and thoroughness.
Demonstrates ability to analyze situations and make recommendations.
Demonstrated job related experience with and/or commitment to welcoming and respectful work/academic environment.
Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of products (such as Outlook, Word, Excel)
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Iowa, or equivalent for clinical profession.
Desired Qualifications:
Collaborates and develops effective interpersonal relationships with nursing staff, medical staff, interdisciplinary teams and other hospital departments
Master’s level preparation or working towards Master’s with clinical specialty, informatics, or management coursework.
Clinical practice experience at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.
Experience using the Epic Clinical Information System and/or Epic Certification(s)
