Senior IT Support Consultant - Vendor Systems Specialist
Position Qualifications:
Education Required
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, IT-related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience Requirements
Experience (typically 3-5 years) supporting workstations running Windows 7/10, Mac OS High Sierra/Mojave/Catalina, MS Office 2010/2016/365
Extensive experience working with desktop hardware and software in a centrally managed enterprise IT environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with a diverse population of technical and non-technical staff, including support documentation.
Ability to move and install IT equipment.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based setting where consultation, flexibility, collaboration and cooperation are essential.
Must have a valid license and must meet the University of Iowa Fleet Services program rules and regulations, due to the required ability to drive University vehicles.
Extensive interpersonal skills with the ability to disarm escalated situations with all levels of personnel.
Highly Desired Qualification
Experience managing risks associated with non-standardized hardware and software configurations in a standardized IT environment.
Desired Qualifications
Experience troubleshooting network, security and firewall issues utilizing network monitoring tools such as Wireshark.
Experience supporting Linux: Ubuntu/CentOS/RedHat
Experience with IT Service Management Change Management, Continuous Improvement Initiatives, ITIL, LEAN and/or Project Management
Experience working in a health care or health industry environment.
