Senior Systems Administrator
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience
Required Qualifications:
• Experience (typically 5-7 years) working in an enterprise level configuration (500+ users) including supporting and managing related technologies
• Experience with both Linux and Windows server operating systems (i.e. Windows Server 2012; Windows Server 2016; Windows Server 2019; Red Hat Enterprise 6.0; 7.0; SUSE; CentOS)
• Knowledge of configuration management technologies (e.g. Puppet, Chef, or Ansible) and version control (e.g. Git)
• Demonstrated ability to assist in system design
• Experience writing automation scripts using languages (i.e. PowerShell, Python, vbscript, JavaScript, Perl, and/or BASH)
• Experience in securing servers and applications
• Familiarity with virtualization (i.e. VMware, KVM, Hyper-V)
• Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting skills in enterprise systems
• Experience evaluating new and emerging technologies and their potential applications at an enterprise level
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with technical and non-technical staff
Desired Qualifications:
• Experience with Apache, MySQL and PHP (e.g. LAMP) and/or Internet Information Server (IIS6 and higher)
• Active Directory deployment, troubleshooting and integration
• Experience with database server administration (MS SQL, MySQL, Oracle, Postgres)
• Experience with Monitoring tools (Nagios, BigBrother, SCOM. CheckMK)
• Deployment experience with SCCM, Casper or equivalent open-source tools
• Knowledge of Cloud technologies
• Experience supporting technology in a higher educational setting
