Simulation Technology Manager, Center for Procedural Skills & Simulation
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications:
- A master’s degree in Nursing or a health science field, Information Technology, Instructional Design, or an equivalent combination education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in adult education and training.
- Minimum of 3 years of administrative and/or program management experience, including managing an annual budget and supervising staff.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with individuals and groups of learners, as well as excellent organizational skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Some travel may be required. Must possess a valid driver's license and meet the requirements of the University of Iowa Fleet Safety Program driving standard (University of Iowa Operations Manual Part V, Chapter 19)
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification as a simulation instructor through an accredited program, such as CHSE or CHSOS.
- Previous clinical simulation experience, preferably in an academic medical center setting.
- Previous experience with computer-based presentations and related audio/visual equipment and the ability to learn new hardware and software operation efficiently.
- Previous experience with medical simulators.
- Knowledge of simulation education with scenario development and debriefing skills.
- Previous operating room experience or experience with skills training.
- Flexibility to accommodate variability in work hours as necessary to facilitate learning events.
- Knowledge of University policies, procedures and regulations.
