POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Experience and Competencies Required (in contract with Governor’s office):

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis or comparable experience in a STEM field, marketing, economics, management, public relations, or related area.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, including public speaking.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage complex activities. 
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with a wide variety of individuals coming from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of current software and web-based applications in written and on-line communication, information processing, and data management.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage, inspire, and advocate for STEM interests and activities.
  • Must have valid driver’s license, good driving record and provide proof of insurance.  Substantial travel required.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a STEM field, marketing, economics, management, public relations, or related area.
  • Work experience in STEM education.
  • Work experience in STEM industry or business.
  • STEM policy experience, and project management experience.

*This is a specified term P&S position with full benefits. The successful incumbent will be appointed in no longer than one-year increments, not to exceed six years from start date unless ongoing funding is secured.
