Staff Nurse (Cardiovascular Outpatient Clinic) - UI Heart and Vascular Center
Education Requirement:
Requires an Associate’s Degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA).
Experience Requirement:
- 1 year experience providing direct nursing care in an outpatient cardiovascular clinic, Adult Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Adult Electrophysiology Lab, cardiovascular ICU and/or ER within past 6 months.
- Demonstrated ability to professionally interact with patients/families, nursing staff and other multi-disciplinary team members.
- Ability to work autonomously in high-volume ambulatory setting with limited supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Current Iowa driver’s license plus ability to meet UI Fleet Services safety standards.
Certification/Licensure Requirement:
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required by start date.
- Current license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa required by start date.
Desired Qualifications:
- 3 years experience providing direct nursing care in an outpatient cardiovascular clinic, Adult Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Adult Electrophysiology Lab, cardiovascular ICU and/or ER within past 6 months.
- If Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is not yet obtained, active enrollment in a BSN program is desired.
- Current job-related professional certification.
- Previous EPIC experience.
- Knowledge of University policies, procedures and practices.
