Education Requirement:

Requires an Associate’s Degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA).

Experience Requirement:

  • 1 year experience providing direct nursing care in an outpatient cardiovascular clinic, Adult Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Adult Electrophysiology Lab, cardiovascular ICU and/or ER within past 6 months.
  • Demonstrated ability to professionally interact with patients/families, nursing staff and other multi-disciplinary team members.
  • Ability to work autonomously in high-volume ambulatory setting with limited supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Current Iowa driver’s license plus ability to meet UI Fleet Services safety standards.

     Certification/Licensure Requirement:

  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required by start date.
  • Current license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa required by start date.

     Desired Qualifications:

  • 3 years experience providing direct nursing care in an outpatient cardiovascular clinic, Adult Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Adult Electrophysiology Lab, cardiovascular ICU and/or ER within past 6 months.
  • If Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is not yet obtained, active enrollment in a BSN program is desired.
  • Current job-related professional certification.
  • Previous EPIC experience.
  • Knowledge of University policies, procedures and practices.
