Staff Nurse (Core ECMO Specialist) - UI Heart and Vascular Center
Education Requirement:
An Associate’s Degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA) is required.
Experience Requirement:
- Minimum 3 years ICU experience within the past 6 months.
- Minimum 6 months experience as an ECMO Specialist.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage critically-ill patient population.
- Proven capacity to function with a high degree of autonomy while collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Certification/Licensure Requirement:
- Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required.
- Current BLS certification required by start date.
- ACLS certification required within 6 mos. of start.
- PALS certification required within 6 mos. of start.
Desired Qualifications:
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or Master’s Degree in Nursing highly desired.
- If Baccalaureate Degree is not yet obtained, active enrollment in a BSN program is highly desired.
- Current ACLS certification desired.
- Current PALS certification desired.
- Previous experience with clinical nursing documentation in EPIC.
