Education and Certification Requirements

  • An Associate’s degree in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing, Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, or Master’s degree in Nursing (MNHP or MSN) is required
  • Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required

Experience Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • 1-2 years of recent staff nurse level experience in a diabetes setting

  • Certified Diabetes Educator or able to become certified within 2 years upon hire

  • Must be able to work flexible hours

  • Evidence of positive service excellence

  • Documented patient education experience

  • Current experience in self-directed, independent roles

  • Evidence of productive and effective time prioritization and time utilization

  • Triage Experience required within the last 3 years.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience working in an ambulatory diabetes clinic setting
  • Experience using EPIC
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Evidence of working well with a team
  • Recent experience in diabetes education
  • Experience in collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary team
