Staff Nurse - Student Health
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- An Associate’s degree in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing, Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, or Master’s degree in Nursing (MNHP or MSN).
- Nursing experience (typically 1 - 3 years).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills with patients, nursing staff, and team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions.
- General computer skills, along with the ability to multi-task; ability to work with computer software & respond to patient calls simultaneously.
- Commitment to and alignment with the values of the Division of Student Life, including a demonstrated active commitment to excellence through diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Adaptability in working with computer software programs
- Current license to practice nursing in the state of Iowa.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to meet University of Iowa Fleet Services program standards.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or active enrollment in Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
- Nursing experience in an ambulatory or outpatient setting.
- Knowledge of University policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of EPIC electronic medical record.
- Ability to be self-directed, problem-solving, and highly motivated.
- Strong customer service focus with the ability to effectively engage in service recovery.
- Experience working in a College Health or Student Health clinical setting.
- Experience working with College Health and Mental Health issues.
- Experience working with the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) and/or Johnson County Public Health.
