Qualifications:

 

Required Qualifications:

  • An Associate’s degree in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing, Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, or Master’s degree in Nursing (MNHP or MSN).
  • Nursing experience (typically 1 - 3 years). 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills with patients, nursing staff, and team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions.
  • General computer skills, along with the ability to multi-task; ability to work with computer software & respond to patient calls simultaneously.
  • Commitment to and alignment with the values of the Division of Student Life, including a demonstrated active commitment to excellence through diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Adaptability in working with computer software programs
  • Current license to practice nursing in the state of Iowa.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to meet University of Iowa Fleet Services program standards.

 

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or active enrollment in Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
  • Nursing experience in an ambulatory or outpatient setting.
  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of EPIC electronic medical record.
  • Ability to be self-directed, problem-solving, and highly motivated.
  • Strong customer service focus with the ability to effectively engage in service recovery.
  • Experience working in a College Health or Student Health clinical setting.
  • Experience working with College Health and Mental Health issues.
  • Experience working with the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) and/or Johnson County Public Health.
