Staff Therapist - Embedded in College of Business
Required Education and Licensure:
Doctoral degree in either Counseling or Clinical Psychology from an APA-Accredited program, Master’s degree in Social Work with clinical focus from a CSWE-Accredited program, or Master’s degree in Counseling from a CACREP-Accredited Program.
Social Worker or Mental Health Counselor: Licensed as an LISW, LMSW, LMHC, or tLMHC in the State of Iowa by date of hire. Psychologist: Possession of a valid State of Iowa license as a psychologist within 18 months of hire. License must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
Required Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of evidence and theory based mental health counseling in assessment, crisis, individual, and group with a university/college student population.
- Extensive ability to assess, manage, and ensure high quality mental health counseling and crisis management.
- Extensive proficiency in planning and delivering outreach programs and consultation services on a university campus.
- Working knowledge of providing supervision to trainees.
- Expert proficiency in the application of communication techniques and relationship building skills that develop the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
- Extensive proficiency in collaborating and interacting with individuals and groups while valuing the unique contribution of individuals.
- Working proficiency with office support tools and electronic medical records software (e.g., word processing, email, presentation software and spreadsheets, electronic health records); preferably Microsoft Office and Titanium EHR.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience working with students in a business college or program.
- Interest and experience in being entrepreneurial in the continual creation of new service systems.
