Position Summary:

Under general supervision, the Storekeeper II will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Checking in products and supplies delivered for quantity ordered, quality of product, and condition of packaging.
  • Coding, storing and rotating stock properly. 
  • Notifying supervisor promptly of any discrepancies, shortage, mis-pricing.
  • Filling production/preparation areas supply requisitions on carts and distributeing to appropriate areas.
  • Filling par-levels in all areas.
  • Distributing supplies based on immediate needs.
  • Recording invoice items correctly on receiving records.
  • Checking receipts against orders and bid specifications of quantity and pricing.
  • Assisting in providing on-the-job training, and functionally supervising student(s) and other employees assigned to assist the storekeepers.
  • Appling storekeeping procedures and methods in arranging space, conducting inventory, estimating needs and maintaining and preparing records and reports as directed.

Additionally, this position will operate departmental trucks to deliver parts and supplies to all University Housing residence halls.  This duty is performed approximately 50% of the time.

Qualifications:

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

  • One year of work experience in storekeeping, accounting business administration or job related work.
  • Any combination of such experience and post high school education that totals one year.

Special Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet the standards of the UI Fleet Safety Program.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Experience working in a diverse work environment.
  • Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, organize priorities and work independently to meet deadlines.
