Position Qualifications

This position requires the following minimum position qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in liberal arts or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Office or administrative experience (typically 1-3 years) with demonstrated working proficiency in carrying out ongoing office administration tasks effectively and efficiently in support of individuals, teams, and/or units including proficient organizational, clerical and computer skills (Microsoft Office software).
  • Demonstrates a working proficiency and ability to work with students in an advisor and/or instructor role including knowledge of course arrangement and academic planning; ability to provide academic counseling to assist students.
  • Demonstrates working proficiency in interpersonal, oral and written communications skills; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through appropriate communication methods and behaviors.
  • Demonstrates interest in intercultural and international education (i.e. related course attendance, clubs or committees membership.)
  • Experience promoting a diverse workforce/academic environment.

The following are highly desired position qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in International Education, Language, Communication, Asian Studies, Student Affairs, Higher Education, Business, Counseling or a similar discipline.
  • Experience (typically 1-3 years) working in a study abroad office.
  • International experience studying and/or working abroad, preferably in Africa and/or the Middle East.
  • Experience working with underrepresented students to foster inclusion and access, or similar experience serving minority populations outside the campus context.
  • Demonstrates a working  knowledge and proficiency with Filemaker Pro and/or web management software.
  • Experience at a large public or private university, especially related to student administration.

Compensation: The successful incumbent may be hired at a salary within the budget parameters of $41,214-$47,300 which is within the pay level 4A minimum to median zone range.
