Supervisor, Landscape Maintenance
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Park & Recreation Administration, Forestry or a similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Professional experience of 1-3 years in the landscape industry (i.e. turf management and/or landscape maintenance).
- Minimum 1-year supervisory experience, including demonstrated experience planning, coordinating, analyzing, executing, and documenting specific administrative and management functions.
- Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
- Proficient in standard office computer software applications (i.e. Microsoft Office and email).
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Working knowledge of pesticides commonly used in the landscape industry.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of staff at all levels of an organization.
Special Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s license is required and ability to meet and maintain UI Driving Policy.
Desired Qualifications:
- Professional experience of 3-5 years in the landscape industry (i.e. turf management and/or landscape maintenance), including supervisory experience.
- Ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.
- Working proficiency in operation of applicable landscape services equipment.
- Arborist certification, Certified Grounds Manager or other professional landscaping credential.
- Proven experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), preferably AiM.
- Experience with process improvement and change management in the workplace.
- University experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional continuous learning and development.
