UIHC department of Material Services is seeking a full-time Supply Chain Coordinator on 2nd shift. This position will be scheduled Monday-Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. (on-call as needed). Manages the day-to-day collection of soiled linen and the acquisition, storage, and distribution of clean linens, uniforms, and lab coats. Supervises staff, maintains inventory, updates activity databases including par levels, overseas equipment maintenance, replenishes ScrubEx machines adjusting size slotting as needed, liaisons issues and priorities with UI Laundry, and resolves customer inquiries.   

  • Procure and deliver goods and services: Coordinate the day-to-day operation of the Linen. Ensures that the soiled linens are collected, and clean linens delivered timely.
  • Research Products, Prepare Product/Equipment Specifications and Contract management: Make recommendations about Linen products or services. Assist with implementation of policies.
  • Inventory Management and Marketing: Oversee Linen inventory controls; determine reorder amounts. Analyze usage trends and make par level and storeroom stocking recommendations. Partners with UI Laundry to receive adequate amounts of linens.
  • Vendor and Customer Relations: Interact with UI Laundry to determine product selection. Resolve customer concerns. Communicate consistently with customers, staff, and Material Services leadership. May contact vendors to discuss product quality and availability.
  • Data Management or Data Systems Development: Analyzes reports to identify areas needing improvement in operational functions. Implements process improvements as necessary. Assesses and enhances production software support for inventory management.
  • Fiscal Responsibility: Determine inventory investments. Recommend operational policies and procedures to assist with the management of expenses given budget constraints.
  • Leadership/Supervision: Will provide supervision to linen room and uniform shop staff. Provide direction, assignments, feedback, coaching and counseling to assure outcomes are achieved. Will be responsible for training new staff members and ensuring staff are following all applicable policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • 2-4 years of supply chain management experience
  • At least one year of actual and or acting supervisory experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills. Create working relationships with team members, customers, vendors, etc.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with linen distribution
  • Experience with PeopleSoft
  • Knowledge of University Policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Ability to effectively multi-task, keeping multiple initiatives moving forward simultaneously
