The College of Dentistry is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Support Services Coordinator to oversee daily operations in our Dental Patient Business Office. Responsibilities:

o   Manage provider credentialing, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and tracking expirations.

o   Oversee accurate insurance payment posting, reconciliation, and refund processing.

o   Resolve credentialing, payment, and billing discrepancies with insurers and providers.

o   Liaise with collections agency; manage account transfers, payments, and reinstatements.

o   Perform quality control on billing and collections; initiate bad debt transfers and handle bankruptcies.

o   Submit claims, pre-authorization and payment requests.

o   Conduct audits and quality checks on insurance claims and billing records.

o   Collaborate with clinic and revenue leadership to reconcile charges and adjustments.

o   Supervise daily business office operations, ensuring compliance and service excellence.

o   Provide backup support in financial counseling, cashiering, and phone system management.

o   Train and mentor staff, student employees, and dental students on insurance and billing processes.

o   Develop training materials and deliver revenue cycle education.

o   Assist in hiring, performance evaluations, payroll, and staffing recommendations.

o   Ensure compliance with university cash handling policies and oversee daily cash posting.

Salary:                  $59,921 (Pay Grade: 4A)

Schedule:            Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

                                May require occasional overtime.

Work Location: On-Site

Required Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

·         1 year relevant medical or dental revenue cycle experience.

·         Health and/or dental care reimbursement experience.

·         Health and/or dental claims experience.

·         Supervisory experience to include performance management and performance improvement, preferably in a healthcare business office.

·         Understanding and adherence to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

·         Relevant fast-paced, high-volume customer service experience.

·         Experience utilizing active conflict management/resolution skills and de-escalation techniques.

·         Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Desirable:

·         Excellent time management techniques, demonstrating the ability to adapt and handle multiple competing priorities.

·         Experience training and developing instructional materials and affiliated learning aids, preferably in a dental/healthcare environment.

·         Experience with electronic health record/patient accounting system.

·         Experience in a dental practice.
