Systems Project Engineer - Department of Physics and Astronomy
Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the development, manufacture, and testing of hardware systems or equivalent postgraduate training.
- Proficiency with at least one circuit design tool (EAGLE, Altium, Multisim, etc.)
- Proficiency in analog and digital circuit design and testing
- Proficiency with test equipment (bench power supplies, oscilloscope, network analyzer, etc.)
- Experience managing small teams and/or projects
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to thrive in an environment with limited direction and broad responsibilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet and maintain University Driving Policy standards
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience developing, building, or testing spaceflight hardware
- Experience with magnetic field, particle, or wave instruments
- Experience in the product life cycle of spaceflight hardware
- Experience with standard rocket, spacecraft, or aerospace communication interfaces
- Experience with qualification testing for spaceflight hardware
- Experience presenting technical content at workshops, reviews, or mission meetings
- Experience executing outreach activities
- Master’s degree in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering
- Basic proficiency in FPGA design (VHDL or Verilog)
