Treasury Operations Specialist
The University of Iowa, Treasury Operations department is seeking a Treasury Operations Specialist. The Treasury Operations Specialist will perform a broad range of accounting and financial responsibilities to assure effective and compliant organizational, department, and unit operations related to banking and investment services. This position is not eligible for University sponsorship for employment authorization.
Duties to Include:
- Serve as primary customer service liaison to University of Iowa departments for banking services and provide information and guidance to departmental staff.
- Coordinate daily operations of banking services programs, including merchant card services, eDeposit, and SMART, to enable accurate and efficient processes.
- Assist in daily cash management functions: review and validate financial activity, calculate available balances, recommend bank transfers for funding or investment.
- General administrative duties, including initiation of payments and routine departmental tasks as assigned.
Location: University Capitol Centre (UCC)/Remote
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Required Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in banking, finance, merchant card services or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in customer service, preferably within the financial, merchant card services, or banking sector.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with financial software and banking systems.
- Demonstrated competence, analytical skills and report presentation using MS Excel spreadsheet software or other similar software.
- Demonstrated logic, reasoning, and problem-solving skills, specifically the ability to identify opportunities for operational improvement and implementing effective changes to processes.
- Ability to accomplish daily tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple duties.
Desirable Qualifications:
- One-three years financial, merchant card services, banking or other related experience.
- Experience with bank processes, PCI-DSS, or credit card acceptance.
- Experience working collaboratively on projects.
- Experience compiling and analyzing large data sets.
- Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) or Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) certification.
- Working knowledge of university policies, procedures and regulations.
