Qualifications:

Education Required

Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.

Required Licensure
Active veterinary licensure in at least one state is required.

Required Qualifications

  • Effective communication skills to develop and maintain relationships and to influence compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Demonstrated job-related experience with and/or commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in the work/academic environment.
  • Proficient in computer software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and various database systems.
  • Possession of a valid state or commercial driver's license, and the ability to meet University Fleet Safety Standards.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Current experience in Laboratory Animal Medicine through a formal residency program or experience route; typically, two (2) years (if formal residency completed).
  • Familiarity with current USDA and PHS regulations, and the AAALAC International accreditation process.
  • Experience with a wide variety of laboratory animal species and their housing from conventional to barrier to biocontainment facilities.
  • Knowledge of university policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Experience with animal surgical suite management including USDA and non-regulated animals.
