Veterinarian
Qualifications:
Education Required
Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.
Required Licensure
Active veterinary licensure in at least one state is required.
Required Qualifications
- Effective communication skills to develop and maintain relationships and to influence compliance with policies and regulations.
- Demonstrated job-related experience with and/or commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in the work/academic environment.
- Proficient in computer software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and various database systems.
- Possession of a valid state or commercial driver's license, and the ability to meet University Fleet Safety Standards.
Desirable Qualifications
- Current experience in Laboratory Animal Medicine through a formal residency program or experience route; typically, two (2) years (if formal residency completed).
- Familiarity with current USDA and PHS regulations, and the AAALAC International accreditation process.
- Experience with a wide variety of laboratory animal species and their housing from conventional to barrier to biocontainment facilities.
- Knowledge of university policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Experience with animal surgical suite management including USDA and non-regulated animals.
