Veterinary Technician I
The Office of Animal Resources at the University of Iowa is seeking a Veterinary Technician. Under general supervision, provides veterinary care for animals used in a research setting. May perform veterinary care, animal husbandry, and basic technical skills. Provides assistance to Veterinarians and investigative staff in their treatment of animals used in teaching, training, or research functions. Position operates within standard guidelines and alternatives that are known, and any deviation from such requires prior approval. Staff will work a rotating on-call schedule and holidays.
Work Schedule: Sunday-Thursday, 8:00am-4:30pm. Some overtime required and will work a rotating on-call schedule.
Work Modality: On Campus. This position is performed fully on campus.

Qualifications:
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
· Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a veterinary technology program accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) or the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA), and
· Registered, licensed, or certified as a veterinary technician within one year of the start date.
Special Qualifications (if appropriate):
· Possession of a valid state or commercial driver's license, and the ability to meet University Fleet Safety Standards.
