Web and Events Coordinator
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, business, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least one year of experience in a project management, event coordination, web content management, and/or communications role.
Competencies Required:
- Demonstrates a working proficiency level in the following competencies:
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to create content for various media platforms, including websites, newsletters, press releases, and social media; and under deadline for a variety of purposes, goals, audiences, and media.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and work with a variety of stakeholders, including faculty, students, and external partners.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience interacting with internal and external stakeholders in a professional setting.
- Proficiency with analytics tools such as Google Analytics for tracking website performance and informing content decisions.
- Demonstrated experience in web content management, including proficiency with content management systems (e.g., Drupal) and web publishing tools.
- Demonstrated experience with event planning and logistics for in-person, virtual, and/or hybrid events, including vendor coordination, AV setup, and event execution.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to create content for various media platforms, including websites, newsletters, press releases, and social media; and under deadline for a variety of purposes, goals, audiences, and media.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Technological proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Zoom, and other digital platforms used for virtual events. Willingness to adapt to and become proficient in changing technologies.
- Experience with tracking expenses and budget oversight.
- Knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures.
- Experience working in higher education.
- Ability to lead projects independently, such as large-scale events (e.g., International Education Week) and web migration projects.

Work Modality: This position is eligible for hybrid work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually, and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.
Compensation: $46,000 – $55,000 with Competitive Benefits
