Admin Services Coordinator
The University of Iowa Military Science is hiring a dedicated Administrative Services Coordinator! (100% appointment)
The Administrative Coordinator provides administrative and operational support for the Military Science (Army ROTC) Program requiring a high degree of discretion, independent judgement, guidance review, communication, and organization. As the public face of the department, Coordinators routinely interact with ROTC cadets, students, staff, and other visitors, answering inquiries as appropriate. They will also have the opportunity to:
· Work directly with Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC), Army ROTC, Iowa Veterans (IVETS), and Johnson County Veterans Administration personnel, to include active-duty military faculty, student cadets, and retired veterans and alumni.
· Manage Scholarship Tuition Program in accordance with Army directives. Understands the levels and types of ROTC Scholarships and the rules governing their activation, suspension, and/or termination. Notifies the university of any changes in scholarship status. Verifies accuracy of tuition invoices. Prepares, submits, and tracks payment.
· Integrates information and may run routine databases queries to generate or produce reports.
· Routinely provides feedback on student cadet performance and notifies Professor of Military

Required Qualifications:
· A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in an administrative support role is required (typically four years of full time professional administrative employment).
Competencies Required:
· Demonstrates a BASIC proficiency level in:
o Analyze current work processes, identify opportunities to improve efficiency, and coordinate the people and resources needed to support organizational objectives.
· Demonstrates a WORKING proficiency level in:
o Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with students, staff, faculty, military personnel, and external stakeholders.
o Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
· Demonstrates an EXTENSIVE proficiency level in:
o The ability to carry out ongoing office administration tasks effectively and efficiently in support of individuals, teams and/or unit with excellent organization and project planning skills.
o Accuracy and attention to detail utilizing specific approaches tools for cross-checking and error-free data gathering and input.
Desirable Qualifications:
· Knowledge of Army guidance, instructions, and regulations regarding officer accessions, Army Cadet Command requirements, and Army ROTC University contractual obligations.
· Knowledge of military command and control structure.
· Skill in Army and Department of Defense data collection and processing systems, to include, but not limited to: Cadet Command Information Management System (CCIM), Ignited.
· Prior Army experience preferred. Prior Army ROTC experience highly desired

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $41,500 – $48,000 with the top of the range reserved for exceptionally qualified applicants. This position includes a comprehensive and competitive benefits package.
