Admissions Counselor - College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 months administrative or program experience, which can include part-time student employment or internships.
- Extensive familiarity with university undergraduate academic policies and practices.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Working knowledge of social media production and use (such as Facebook, Tumblr, etc.).
- Evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills, as demonstrated at an extensive proficiency level.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to perform a wide variety of tasks while maintaining a professional demeanor, as demonstrated at an extensive proficiency level.
- Proven record of the ability to maintain confidentiality as required by FERPA regulations.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.
Desired Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures is desirable.
- Experience working in an academic setting, such as academic advising, career services advising, or working with first-year college students.
- Working knowledge of web design programs is desirable.
- Understanding of Federal Financial Aid practices and policies.
