Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Outdoor Recreation, Physical Education, Recreation Administration, Sports Management, or other related field, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Working experience (typically 6 months - 1 year) of professional or part-time experience in college or university recreation facility/program management or comparable community recreation experience.
  • Basic ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices and tools to developing and improving individual performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative climate that recognizes and promotes diversity and individual growth in multicultural competency.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, along with the ability to effectively resolving conflicts or complaints as they arise.
  • Working experience with standard office computer applications, including Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Current CPR, AED, First-Aid Certification or ability to obtain within one month of hire.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Outdoor Recreation, Physical Education, Recreation Administration, Sports Management, or related field.
  • Six months or more of supervisory experience including students in a college or university setting.
  • Experience using recreational management software.
  • Wilderness First Responder (WFR) or Wilderness First Aid (WFA) certification.
  • Climbing Wall Association Climbing Wall Instructor certification
  • Working experience with event scheduling and special event support.
