AirCare Manager- (Paramedic Credentials: Utilize this posting if you have Paramedic Credentials & Experience)
Required Education:
- Master's Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must obtain an advanced degree in Health Care Administration or Business Administration within five (5) years from beginning of position start.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Current Paramedic license to practice in Iowa.
- Ability to obtain Illinois and Wisconsin license within 6 months of hire date.
- Driver's License and ability to meet and maintain UI Fleet Safety Standards.
Required Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in leadership/management roles including clinical experience providing patient care in a Level I Trauma Center ED, ICU or high-volume ALS or Critical Care ambulance service and/or flight experience is required.
- 3+ years experience in flight critical care service is required,
- BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required by start date.
- Advanced Trauma course: TNCC, PHTLS required by start date. TPATC required within 6 months of hire.
- Experience with unit operations including human resources, financial management, and compliance with regulatory environment with various federal and state agencies and the Joint Commission.
- Must be proficient in computer software applications.
- Must be able to demonstrate job-related experience with and/or commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment.
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Certification in a role or specialty through a nationally recognized professional nursing certification body. If not currently certified, must seek certification in a role or specialty as soon as eligible to sit for exam.
Desired Experience:
- Certified Medical Transport Executive (CMTE) desired.
- Previous experience working in a large academic medical center.
- Experience working in a union environment.
